Here's an article which points out that the more one supports an Islamic role in politics, the more likely one is to support terrorism.
Hard to believe, I know.

Happy Anniversary
According to The Encyclopedia Britannica, today is the 1375th anniversary of the death of our friend Mohammed the Pedophile... er, Prophet.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. Too bad his cult didn't die with him.

Funniest satirical article ever
I just got this in an email from a friend. Funniest thing I've ever read.
Apparently, an Islamic London would be akin to the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
It really is funny. Except that it isn't.

The official religion of the US
Here's a link to an article from the Detroit News. It's interesting to note how the usual groups that would jump on this type of issue sit this one out.
The University claims that it's okay, because it isn't using public funds, but only money collected from students. Uh-huh.
But the Muslims are being open-minded about it: They graciously point out that anyone can use the footbaths. My suggestion would be for the students there to gather at the relevant spot just before the prayer time, and get a whole line of people to wash their feet, making the Muslims wait. Then we'll see what happens. I bet the freedom for infidels to use them will vanish pretty quickly.

Islam =Feminism? How?
I've occasionally seen articles quoting women (usually converts to Islam) praising how well Islam treats women. And I always wonder if the women are really that ignorant.
Here's an article written by an LA Times journalist who spent several years in Saudi Arabia. It's worth a read, as it gives a glimpse into the mindset of a Western woman there, and also some of the mindset of the locals- both those who support the laws repressing women, and those who oppose them.
It's most interesting to me the way some of the women there accept their treatment. One asks why she would want to vote, when she has a man to make decisions for her.
Amazing. This is a culture that makes no sense to me. But the idea of women- any women, let alone "feminists"- supporting Islam in any way is even less sensible.
Ah well. Not much I can say about it that hasn't already been said.

Remind me again how this is permitted?
From a newspaper in New Hampshire, via LGF.
Nice to know that schools forbid students from reading the Bible on their own time, praying silently, etc., while giving classes on Islam.
Sad to say, Islam is the new official religion of the US. And we were never even allowed to express our opinions, let alone vote.

Reflecting on 1967
The great Melanie Phillips has a post that should be required reading for everyone.
The Post discusses a recent seminar on the legacy of the Six Day War in 1967. I won't say much about it, except to comment that there are some scary points. It seems, according to some of the speakers there, that the Arabs were planning a- dare I use the term- Final Solution to the Jewish Question.
Going along with main theme of a disconnect between the fear of Holocaust and the sense of Invincibility, I can't help but think that the enemies of Israel figured it out long before She did: As I recall, it was shortly after their disastrous war, that the local Arabs suddenly became "Palestinians".
Thus moving themselves from enemies and aggressors to victims.
